About

Lily Marks

Born and raised in vibrant and exhilarating New York City, Lily Marks is and has always been fascinated by different people and how their stories fit into the patchworked fabric of life. Lily has explored this--both via personal creative endeavors and consumption of other mediums--through writing, fine arts, reading, and music.

In 2019, Lily interned at Rolling Stone, where she published several news stories and her own one-on-one interview with singer-songwriter-producer Labrinth. At RS, she discovered how impactful it can be to work in an environment that allows you to roll all your passions into one: storytelling, current events, music, the arts, and writing. Eager for a challenge, Lily moved to Tel Aviv, Israel, solo. While living there, she became Creative Content Writer for the international Eden Gallery, where she oversaw all digital content across Eden's ten worldwide locations. While abroad, she learned how important it is to have friends from all over the world. She saw how much learning can be done through hands-on experience, by really living, and that the rest of the world is very different from New York City.

Since moving back to New York in late 2022 after traveling extensively, she has been working as a freelance archive researcher for Rolling Stone Senior Writer David Browne as he writes the manuscript for his forthcoming book on the history of music in Greenwich Village. She is also a freelance writer for Shore Fire Media, and spends her days training and fundraising for her first New York City marathon; volunteering at mental health organization The Bridge and overdose prevention center OnPoint; and immersing herself in all that New York has to offer--mainly, the music.

Lily holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan--Ann Arbor, where she wrote for SHEI Magazine, Michigan's premier fashion and culture publication. Through elective courses in the STAMPS School of Art and Design, she fell in love with textile design and painting as her creative outlets.
